When did you start CrossFit?
What made you start CrossFit?
After spending most of my youth playing competitive soccer, I was relatively sedentary in my early twenties. I missed feeling like an athlete, and realized that training towards specific athletic goals has a huge positive impact on other facets of daily life. Crossfit was the goal-oriented fitness system I needed in my life.
When did you come to SLSC?
What do you enjoy about SLSC?
I have been fortunate to be a part of many different fitness communities over the last 7 years. I love that South Loop brings together all sorts of people with varying athletic backgrounds and levels of experience into an intimate environment where they can all share and benefit from each other’s knowledge and experiences. I always like to remind people that fitness is a life-long endeavor. I appreciate that SLSC is focused on helping people achieve long-term sustainable fitness rather than just giving them a brutal workout and leaving them panting on the floor day in and day out.
What do you enjoy about coaching?
Sometimes it takes someone else to help you get over your self-imposed limitations, and help you realize what you’re actually capable of. I think that’s one of the most valuable things about having a coach, and the thing I love most about being one.
What would you say to someone who is considering trying out SLSC but is unsure?
Being a part of the Crossfit community has given me so much over the years and has been one of the most influential aspects of my life. Maybe you’ll discover that isn’t for you, but what if it is?
