Brown University (Neuroscience)
When did you start CrossFit?
2010
What made you start CrossFit?
I had heard of a crazy workout called Murph (1 mile run, 300 squats, 200 push ups, 100 pull ups, 1 mile run all while wearing a 20lb weight vest) and was instantly intrigued. I found the closest CrossFit gym and was hooked from the very first workout.
When did you come to SLSC?
I joined SLSC in June of 2015.
What do you enjoy about SLSC?
The philosophy of SLSC is different than most gyms out there. Rather than pushing you through soul crushing workouts everyday, they try to really develop the athlete wherever they may be in that journey. They believe in long term sustainable fitness and health rather than just doing what is trendy.
What do you enjoy about coaching?
I love the impact that my coaching has had on the lives of the countless members that I have had the privilege to work with throughout the years. People often times come in broken in some way (physically or emotionally) and they leave with a sense of accomplishment and a kind of strength that isn’t just measured by the number of pounds on their barbells. It’s awesome and inspiring, and it’s what keeps me going.
What would you say to someone who is considering trying out SLSC but is unsure?
Leave your fears behind and try something new that will truly make a positive and lasting change in your life if you just let yourself be open to it.
