What made you start CrossFit?
While in college, my interest in nutrition helped me discover CrossFit through a popular Paleo diet blogger. I thought CrossFit looked both fun and challenging. Mostly, I just thought lifting weights was badass! I ended up joining a year later while in graduate school.

Fall 2019
What do you enjoy about SLSC?
I like that SLSC staff really care about every member’s wellbeing and success. Thinking back to the beginning of the pandemic, they did a great job keeping us safe, providing programming and loaning equipment for home workouts, and organizing extra ways to keep us connected as a community.
What do you enjoy about coaching?
I love being part of the CrossFit community. Helping people within the community improve and accomplish their goals brings me a lot of joy.
What would you say to someone who is considering trying out SLSC but is unsure?
The most common excuse I hear from people is that they’re intimidated by CrossFit or “not in good enough shape”. There are countless ways to scale even the toughest workouts. Just by showing up and following the programming and coaches’ instructions, you’ll get fitter.
