I recently graduated from Wabash College with a major in Chemistry and minor in Biology. While attending Wabash I played football for two years before making the full commitment to focus only on wrestling where I was a three year captain and a NCAA National Qualifier my senior year. Since early on in high school I have always been interested in the fitness industry and have had numerous small end jobs at a variety of gyms. Then, in the offseason during the last couple years of my wrestling career I was introduced to CrossFit. It was then I realized that CrossFit, strength and conditioning, and fitness in general was something that I truly loved and wanted to pursue. I then went on to receive my CrossFit Level 1 and USA Weightlifting certificates. I started coaching full time in the summer of 2013 at CrossFit Carmel, on the north side of Indianapolis, before moving to Chicago. I am also currently finishing up the OPEX Coaches Certificate Program Level 1 Associate Coach Certificate.
In my free time I continue to embrace my competitive nature by training full time in the sport of CrossFit and fitness in general. I love to compete and I have placed and won numerous local fitness competitions in the Indianapolis area and most recently qualified for the Elite Division in the 2014 Granite Games. My current goal is to make the 2015 CrossFit Regionals. I am a strong believer that everyone needs a goal to train for to help them stay motivated and focused. It doesn’t matter what that goal is as long as you are passionate about it and the fire burns inside you in order to get better physically, mentally, and spiritually to help you reach that goal.
